FAQ

British curriculum maths: questions from parents

How long is each class?

45 minutes. Young children learn best in short, active bursts, so each class moves between explaining, playing and practising.

How much does a class cost?

₹700 per 45-minute class. The worksheet and homework for that lesson are included; there is nothing extra to buy. For example, one class a week is ₹2,800 for four classes, and two classes a week is ₹5,600 for eight.

My child is 5. Which year is that?

In England, children turn 5 during Reception and start Year 1 at 5 to 6. In India this is often UKG. We are not sure of your child's class yet, so the first class checks what they already know and we start from there, using Reception and Year 1 maths.

What happens in every class?

A short warm-up, then three learn, see and practise loops with pictures and games on the screen, three hands-on activities, a picture quiz, and homework with a printable worksheet.

Does it follow the British curriculum?

Yes. The lessons follow the maths in the England curriculum for Reception (the early years goals for number) and Year 1: number, adding and taking away, shape, measures, time and simple fractions.

Who teaches the class?

A teacher from our network who teaches young children online, using these lessons. We confirm the teacher, timing and price with a parent first.

What does my child need?

A computer or tablet with a camera, a few small toys or buttons for counting, paper and crayons. A grown-up nearby for the first classes helps.

Will my child get homework?

Yes, every class ends with a short homework (about 10 minutes) and a printable worksheet with an answer key for parents.
