Grade bands follow a common CBSE-style scale (A1 from 91, A2 from 81, B1 from 71, B2 from 61, C1 from 51, C2 from 41, D from 33). Other boards and universities use different scales, so check yours.
How the percentage is worked out
Percentage = total marks obtained ÷ total maximum marks × 100. If your board counts only the best subjects, choose that number and the calculator picks the highest-scoring ones by percentage.
