How to play Orbit Slingshot
- Pick a mission on the map. Tier 1 has one planet, tier 2 several, and tier 3 adds orbiting moons and black holes.
- Drag anywhere on the space map, away from where you want to fly, and let go to launch. A longer pull means more speed.
- The dotted line shows how your flight starts. It gets shorter in higher tiers, so you have to predict more yourself.
- Reach the swirling portal to finish. Fly through both stars on the way for three stars.
- No mouse? Use the ▲ ▼ + - buttons, or the arrow keys and Space.
Tips and strategy
- Slower probes curve more, because gravity has longer to act on them.
- Aim to pass a planet's side, not its centre: that is a gravity assist.
- The pull gets much stronger close to a planet (gravity follows an inverse-square law), so a near pass bends your path a lot.
- Moons start in the same place every launch. Time your shot to their orbit.

FAQ
Orbit Slingshot: questions
Is the gravity in Orbit Slingshot realistic?
It uses Newton's inverse-square law of gravity in two dimensions, stepped 120 times a second. Distances and masses are scaled for play, but the shapes of the paths are real physics.
What is a gravity assist or slingshot?
When a spacecraft flies close past a planet, the planet's gravity bends its path and can change its speed. Space missions use this to reach distant planets with less fuel.
How do I get three stars?
Reach the portal after flying through both gold stars in the same shot. Every mission has a shot that does it.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. Drag on the screen to aim and let go to launch, or use the aim and power buttons.
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up or ads, and your stars are saved in your browser.
