How to play Gravity Sums
- Choose a level.
- Read the sum at the top of the board.
- The dropper swings left and right. Tap, click or press Space to drop the ball.
- The ball bounces off the pegs and lands in one of five bins.
- Land in the bin with the correct answer to score. Ten questions per round.
Tips and strategy
- Solve the sum first so you know which bin to aim for.
- Drop the ball directly above the bin you want. Pegs scatter it, so close is good enough.
- A tiny difference in drop position can change the whole path: that is chaos in action.
- Build a streak for bonus points.

FAQ
Gravity Sums: questions
Is the physics real?
It is a simplified 2D simulation using the Matter.js physics engine, with gravity and bouncy collisions.
Why does the ball not go where I aimed?
The pegs deflect the ball, and tiny differences in the first bounce change the whole path. Aim above the correct bin and adjust.
Which maths does it practise?
Mental addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and squares, depending on the level.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Tap the board to drop the ball.
