Filling in a blank multiplication chart is one of the best ways to practise recall of times tables facts. Children write each product in the grid, which makes them think about the patterns as well as the answers. A completed chart can then be checked against the answer key on page 2.
Ways to use a blank multiplication chart
- Timed fill-in: see how quickly a child can complete the grid, and try to beat last week's time.
- One table at a time: colour in or fill just the 6s, 7s or 8s row and column.
- Patterns first: start with the 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s, then the square numbers, then the rest.
- Mark it together: use the answer key and circle the facts to practise again.
If your child needs support, print the filled-in multiplication chart for reference. For more practice, try the 6 to 9 times tables worksheets.

FAQ
Blank multiplication chart: questions
What is a blank multiplication chart for?
It lets children practise the times tables by filling in every product themselves. It builds recall and helps them notice patterns such as the mirror symmetry and the square numbers.
Does the blank chart come with answers?
Yes. Page 2 of the PDF is the completed chart, so you can check the work. Turn the answer key off for a clean student copy.
How can a child fill in a multiplication chart faster?
Start with the easy rows (1, 2, 5, 10), use the mirror pattern (3 × 7 = 7 × 3), and build harder facts from easier ones: 6 × 7 is 5 × 7 plus one more 7.
