Orientation of the last layer
Two-look OLL: make the top yellow in two steps.
Ten algorithms, each with a picture of the case it solves and a cube you can step through. Yellow stickers are shown in yellow; everything else is grey.
Look 1 ยท three algorithms
Make the yellow cross
Count the yellow edges on top: none (a dot), two next to each other (an L-shape) or two opposite each other (a line).
Look 2 ยท seven algorithms
Turn the corners yellow
With the cross made, count the yellow corners on top: none (H or Pi), one (Sune or Anti-Sune) or two (T, U or L).
How to use this page
Hold the cube so the top looks like the picture, then do the algorithm. The picture is made by running the algorithm backwards from a solved cube, so it shows exactly what the algorithm solves with no extra turns. If your case is rotated, turn the top layer (U) until it matches.
Moves are written in standard notation. The lowercase r and f are wide turns: the face together with the layer behind it.
FAQ
Two-look OLL questions
What is two-look OLL?
A way to turn the last layer yellow in two steps: first make the yellow cross with the edges, then turn the corners yellow. It uses 10 short algorithms instead of the 57 needed for one-look OLL.
Which two-look OLL algorithm should I learn first?
Start with the cross algorithm F R U R' U' F' and the Sune R U R' U R U2 R'. Together they solve many cubes, and the Anti-Sune is the Sune done backwards.
How do I know which of the seven corner cases I have?
Once the cross is made, count the yellow corners on top. None: H or Pi. One: Sune or Anti-Sune. Two: T, U or L. Then match the sideways yellow stickers to the pictures.
Is two-look OLL slower than full OLL?
Yes, because you look and act twice. But two-look is quicker to learn, and many cubers use it for a long time before learning the full set.
