How to play Melody Memory
- Press Listen and watch the keys light up as each note plays.
- Play the same notes back in the same order: tap the keys, or press 1 to 8 (or A S D F G H J K) on a keyboard.
- Each round adds one note. Reach the full melody to finish the level.
- A wrong note replays the tune and costs a life. Keep all three lives for three stars.
Tips and strategy
- Sing or hum the tune quietly as it plays. Your voice remembers melodies better than your eyes remember lights.
- Notice the shape: does the tune go up, down, or jump?
- Group notes in threes, like remembering a phone number.
- Switch the labels between do-re-mi and letter names (C, D, E) to learn both.

FAQ
Melody Memory: questions
Is Melody Memory like the game Simon?
Yes, it works like a musical Simon game: the melody plays, you repeat it, and it grows one note at a time. Here the notes are real musical notes, so you also train your ear.
Do I need sound on?
It is much easier with sound, because you can remember the tune. Tap the screen once so your browser allows audio, and make sure your device isn't muted.
What is the pentatonic scale?
A five-note scale (here do, re, mi, sol, la, plus the high do). It has no clashing notes, which is why it is used in folk songs all over the world.
What age is it for?
Children from about 6 enjoy tier 1. Tiers 2 and 3 are a real challenge for older children and adults.
