Week by week

What the learner works on

1. Weeks 1–2
   Week 1 to 2: Home row

   Slow, accurate practice, ten minutes a day.

2. Weeks 3–4
   Week 3 to 4: Whole keyboard

   Add rows and common words.

3. Weeks 5–6
   Month 2: Accuracy and speed

   Typing races and tests.

4. Weeks 7–8
   Then: First coding

   Scratch or Python once typing is comfortable.

The order and pace change to suit the learner, and the teacher adjusts after every few classes. Topics follow the learner's board or level.

Is this course right?

Ages 6 to 10. A child who can type a short sentence without hunting for keys is ready for text-based coding.
