How do you find the best m and b? The crudest way is to try many combinations and keep the one with the lowest error. This brute-force search always works for a tiny problem, and it makes the point of training clear: pick the parameters that minimise the error. It becomes hopeless with thousands of parameters, which is why smarter methods exist.
