Scratch and block coding: the gentlest way into programming
Children snap colourful blocks together to make games, stories and animations. There is no typing and no syntax errors, so the ideas of coding come first.

What it is
Scratch and block coding in plain words
In block coding, instructions are shaped like puzzle pieces. A child drags a "move" block under a "when flag clicked" block and the character moves. Underneath, it teaches the same ideas as any language: sequences, loops, conditions, variables and events.
